Overview
ABC Emergency delivers timely warnings and comprehensive coverage of emergency events across Australia. The website aggregates incident information from emergency agencies nationwide, presenting it through a modern, user-friendly interface to provide relevant and detailed information during crises. In collaboration with designer Luke Morris, I played a key role in co-design, concept development, prototyping while implementing the DLS design system principles and integrated components to create a familiar and consistent user experience.

To provide a comprehensive overview of incidents, users can see both the total number of incidents per state and the total number nationwide.
Relevant and curated content
To help audiences plan and prepare for emergencies and know what to do during them, the website offers relevant and curated content.
Incident map view
The incident map view allows audiences to find their location and nearby incidents by searching via suburb or postcode, helping them respond effectively during an emergency. Additionally, the page provides national and state-level quick access links.
To enhance user experience, an incidents list mirrors the map view, offering familiar navigation and intuitive interactions. The website was designed with a responsive approach, delivering the most relevant information effectively to audiences regardless of their screen size.
Incident cards and tooltips
Incident cards are designed to quickly inform audiences of the most relevant information at a glance. Using dedicated iconography also reflected on tooltips, incident level descriptions give audiences a clear understanding of the severity and potential impact of each event.
Incident detailed page
The page features an incident map view that offers visual context and helps users identify potential nearby events. Each incident listing also includes relevant specific information and a direct link to its source at the originating emergency service. For added assistance, the page provides quick links to live radio broadcast and both local and national emergency information.
